Coronavirus and Our Dedication to You

Since 1913, our customers, communities, and associates have been at the heart of all Standard Bank’s decisions—both big and small. This dedication guides us today and is deeply rooted in our mission.

This commitment remains at our core as we navigate the challenges and changes the coronavirus (COVID-19) has presented in our nation. We are actively monitoring recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and urge you to do the same.  As a socially responsible company, we are dedicated to protect and preserve our customers, associates, neighbors, and country, and we will take the necessary steps to help promote public health and security. To that end, our associates are taking extra safety precautions to maintain wellness and the same level of service you expect at Standard Bank. These measures include:

  • Performing enhanced levels of environmental cleaning of our facilities
  • Practicing social distancing – trying to stay approximately six feet away from others
  • Avoiding hand shaking
  • Avoiding large crowds
  • Asking all sick associates to stay home
  • Avoiding all unnecessary business or personal travel

We Continue to Offer 24/7 Access to Your Accounts
Online Banking and Mobile App Banking are reliable and widely-used services that ensure 24/7 remote access to your accounts. Through these services, you remain in complete control of your money, check deposits, bill payments, and debit cards. For safety, security, and convenience reasons, we recommend all of our customers enroll in Online Banking as well as Mobile Banking.

If You Experience Hardship
We understand that some of our customers may experience financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and/or the safety precautions being instituted. One of the benefits of banking with a community bank is our ability to empathize and be flexible with our customers and their unique circumstances. If you find yourself in hardship, please call your local personal banker or our Customer Care Center at 1-866-856-Bank (2265). They will be willing to help and provide you sound advice.

Be Vigilant and Keep Your Information Safe
Sadly, fraudsters prey on good-hearted people in times of celebration, distraction, or uncertainty. From Christmas to coronavirus, or tax season to election season, they are always looking to catch you off guard and exploit your personal information. Continue to remain vigilant and keep your personal information safe. A few tips to remember:

  • Never give personal information over the phone or e-mail. If it’s needed for something you were expecting, simply ask to call the person back at an official phone number you can verify. If the company is legitimate, they will completely understand. This is safety protocol in banking.
  • Phone calls or emails soliciting personal information are often pushy and create a sense of urgency. Standard Bank will NEVER send you an e-mail asking for personal or account information (including PIN numbers or online banking passwords). We also will never send you an e-mail asking you to download a file or software.
  • If you are ever unsure or have any questions during normal business hours, please call our Customer Care Center at 1-866-856-Bank (2265) or stop by your local office. We’re more than happy to be of service to you! After hours, for 24/7 banking or app assistance, call 1-888-722-1323.
