09/19/2017: $6,000 Awarded to Monroeville Non-Profits
Standard Charitable Foundation Awards $6,000 in Grants to Support Monroeville Non-Profits
Monroeville, Pa. – The Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded grants to two Monroeville non-profits: The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) Educational Foundation and Sheep, Inc. Health Care Center.
The first grant was awarded to CCAC Educational Foundation for $4,000 and will help support the cost of providing food for CCAC students with food insufficiencies. CCAC Boyce Campus established a Campus Cupboard in cooperation with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank to serve these students.
The second grant awarded is a $2,000 grant to Sheep, Inc. Health Care Center, which is a free, walk-in medical clinic for uninsured, low-income individuals in the greater Monroeville and Turtle Creek areas. The grant will be used to purchase a Spot Vital Signs Monitor and to help cover patient costs for prescriptions, lab tests, diagnostic imaging, and flu shots. Their Monroeville clinic is open every Thursday evening from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at 4561 Old William Penn Highway, and Turtle Creek clinic is the first Saturday of each month at 305 McMasters Avenue from 3:00-5:30 p.m. For more information, you may call the Health Care Center at (412) 310-0062, visit them on Facebook, or peruse their website at www.sheepincclinic.org.
