Cumberland, Md. – Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded a $3,500 grant to the YMCA of Cumberland. The grant will be used to purchase a recumbent cycle for the Riverside Facility. Recumbent cycles provide seniors a gentle exercise routine and regular exercise, which has been shown to help relieve the symptoms of arthritis, prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, and improve a senior’s ability to function.
Don Enterline, CEO of the Cumberland YMCA added, “Thanks to the support of the foundation, more seniors will have the opportunity for appropriate exercise and that could mean relief from arthritis symptoms and improved functioning ability.”
Cindy Schartiger, market manager of Standard Bank’s LaVale office, adds “The Cumberland YMCA is continuously adding new programs and equipment to meet more and more of our community’s needs. Standard Bank is honored to support the YMCA as well as all those they serve!”
This is Standard Charitable Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to not for profit organizations in the communities in which Standard Bank operates.
