Standard Charitable Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to the American Red Cross
Westmoreland County, Pa. – Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to the American Red Cross of Chestnut Ridge, which serves Westmoreland, Armstrong, Indiana and Fayette Counties. The grant awarded will provide funding to support the Prepare Western PA Initiative, which is a three-year campaign aimed at building resilient communities that are better prepared for and more able to respond to human suffering in times of life-threatening crises and disasters. Through the initiative, the Red Cross seeks to strengthen its disaster-response systems and capacity, engage and empower additional dedicated volunteers, and build community resilience through disaster preparedness outreach.
Dana Bauer, Executive Director American Red Cross of Chestnut Ridge, comments, “We are incredibly thankful for the generous commitment Standard Bank has made to the American Red Cross of Chestnut Ridge and the Prepare Western PA Initiative. With 2017 marking our century of service in local communities, it is befitting that we leverage support for this initiative which will be invested in growing our disaster volunteer force, expanding the reach of our preparedness programs, and updating our technology and fleet. We invite individuals and other local businesses to follow the lead of Standard Bank and help the Red Cross to build more resilient communities—ones that can not only survive, but also quickly adapt and successfully recover from emergencies. In resilient communities, lives and money are saved.”
Marcy Karasek, senior commercial loan officer at Standard Bank, adds, “As a small community bank, Standard Bank prides itself in giving back to the communities in which we serve.
