Ligonier, Pa. – July 13, 2011 – Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded a $500 grant to the Valley Players of Ligonier to help fund their Children’s Summer Theater Camp Program. This camp is running during the weeks of July 5 through July 16 and is designed to nurture, challenge and empower young people (grades 3-12) through education to the concepts and responsibilities of live theater.
Standard Charitable Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to not for profit organizations in the communities in which Standard Bank operates. The Standard Charitable Foundation was established in conjunction with the 2010 conversion of Standard Bank’s parent company from mutual to stock form.
Erin Ansell, assistant manager at Standard Bank’s Ligonier office, comments “Ligonier residents have appreciated the creative entertainment the Valley Players have brought to the community for over thirty years. We are excited to help fund an opportunity to pass this tradition on to our youth.”
Tim Zimmerman, President and CEO of Standard Bank, matches Ansell’s excitement of helping provide a unique, empowering opportunity for Ligonier’s youth. “Standard Bank has always been a true community bank, and now with the help of Standard Charitable Foundation, we are able to put even more money back into the communities that have supported us for decades.”
Standard Charitable Foundation and Standard Bank wish the youth in this year’s Children’s Summer Theater Camp Program a fun and empowering experience.
