Standard Charitable Foundation Awards $2,000 Grant to the Scottdale Community Pool

Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Scottdale Community Pool, which is open to all residents of Scottdale, Mt. Pleasant and neighboring communities within a 15 mile radius regardless of income levels.  The pool provides a facility for swimming year round, instruction on swimming safety, aquatic fitness programs, senior citizen programs and as a facility for first responders to practice water rescue techniques and CPR instruction.  The grant to the Scottdale Community Pool will help make repairs and/or replace components of the pool.

Standard Charitable Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to not for profit organizations in the communities in which Standard Bank operates. The Standard Charitable Foundation was established in conjunction with the 2010 conversion of Standard Bank’s parent company from mutual to stock form.

Elizabeth Wable, manager at Standard Bank’s Scottdale office, comments “The Scottdale Community Pool offers countless people a year round haven for exercise and learning.  We are happy to help them make repairs so they may better serve the community.”

Tim Zimmerman, President and CEO of Standard Bank, matches Wable’s excitement of helping fund such an integral community center.  “Standard Bank consistently strives to give back to the communities in which we serve, and helping provide needed updates to the Scottdale Community Pool fits that mission.  We hope everyone will be able to use and enjoy the facility!”

Standard Charitable Foundation and Standard Bank wish the Scottdale Community Pool, and the families it serves, great fun and growth as they enjoy the updated facility!  For pool hours and information, please call the Scottdale Community Pool at 724-887-0667.
