STANDARD BANK CELEBRATES “CUSTOMER APPRECIATION EVENT”

Monroeville, PA – April 9, 2009 – Standard Bank (“Standard” or the “Bank”) announces the launch of its annual “Customer Appreciation” celebration April 20 through April 30. Each year, Standard offers special events and product offerings to thank customers for their banking relationships.

Louanne C. Hout, VP & Manager of Marketing stated, “At Standard, customers are appreciated every day of the year. Our annual Customer Appreciation event exhibits that our Bank has a different philosophy than the big banks. Since 1913, Standard remains strong, safe and the best bank in town to put your money. Standard is a true community Bank and is uniquely committed to personalized service, low fees and focusing on the local economy. This year’s Customer Appreciation event will be proof of that.”

Gwen Lewton, VP & Community Banking Office Coordinator, commented, “We always offer some strong product and service values during this event - plus, this year’s customer giveaway is special. We wanted to place a strong focus on supporting the local economy. Each of Standard’s community banking offices purchased gift certificates from local businesses. Our customers can register to win the gift certificates.” Lewton added, “The winners can help stimulate the local economy by dining or shopping locally with a little help from their bank. It’s a win-win situation for all.”

W. Joy Carpenter, VP & Eastern Region Coordinator stated, “This event really gives us the opportunity to prove that our customer relationships are very important to us. At Standard, we still personally answer our phones and customer questions. We make decisions locally and keep our customers’ money in this community.” Carpenter added, “I am proud to work for a community bank where customers are still the number one priority.”

For help during these uncertain economic times, Standard will be offering special deposit and loan values. Other Customer Appreciation specials include the opportunity for a free Financial Planning Analysis or a second opinion on your financial plan. Additionally, Loan Specialists will be available to discuss the best financing options for you and the staff will be demonstrating the ease and cost saving benefits of ONLine Banking. Standard will launch a new Online Banking product for their business customers in April.

Established in 1913, Standard is a Pennsylvania chartered savings bank with assets of $358 million. Standard operates ten offices serving individuals and small to mid sized businesses in Allegheny, Westmoreland and Bedford Counties, in Pennsylvania and Allegany County in Maryland. Standard is a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Mutual Holding Company, which has not issued any stock. There is no common stock traded on any exchange.
