STANDARD BANK RECOGNIZES AND THANKS BOB GEORGE

Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. February 10, 2009. Standard Bank (“Standard” or the “Bank”) is proud to recognize and thank Mr. Robert L. George (Bob), for his 32 years of dedicated service as a member of Standard Bank’s Board of Directors. Mr. George was elected to the Bank’s Board in 1977 to represent the Mount Pleasant Community. Mr. George retired as a Director in December 2008. On January 20, 2009, at the Bank’s Annual Meeting, Standard Bank’s Board of Directors unanimously elected Mr. George as Director Emeritus. Serving as an Emeritus Director will help ensure that Mr. George maintains a strong connection with the Bank.

Tim Zimmerman, Standard Bank President and CEO commented, “Bob George is a pillar of the Mt. Pleasant community and one of the finest individuals I have ever worked with. The Standard Bank Board Members and Bank Associates have great respect for Mr. George. His inspiration, leadership and dedication will definitely be missed.” Zimmerman added, “We wish him well and hope he enjoys his retirement because he truly deserves it.”

Mr. George was born in Mt. Pleasant in 1922, the son of M.R. and Margaret F. George. He graduated from Grove City College in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Accounting. He joined the U.S. Naval Reserves and attended midshipmen school in Notre Dame, Indiana. He served on a naval destroyer stationed in the Pacific until 1946. When he returned home to Mt. Pleasant, he went to work for his father and Charles Cunningham at George and Cunningham Hardware - established in 1924. Bob stayed on and continued to run and eventually own the store after the retirement of his father and Mr. Cunningham. Bob married Marjorie Moon in 1944 and they have two children: a daughter, Martha Sitler, who currently resides in Douglassville, Pa., and a son, William “Bill” George, who currently resides and operates the family business in Mt. Pleasant. They also have two grandchildren.

Mr. George was active in many organizations throughout his career always keeping a local focus and helping the Mt. Pleasant Community. He was involved with the Salvation Army Mt. Pleasant Unit, Mt. Pleasant Rotary, Mt. Pleasant Chamber, Mt. Pleasant Borough (Treasurer), Mt. Pleasant Chapter of American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, as well as the Mt. Pleasant Elks, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob currently is a 74-year member of the Reunion Presbyterian Church. Bob and Marjorie currently reside in Woodcrest in Scottdale.

With Mr. George’s retirement from Standard Bank’s Board of Directors, the Mt. Pleasant community will remain well represented by Dale A. Walker. Dale is also a Mt. Pleasant native and already serves as a Standard Bank Board Member.

Walker commented, “I have known Mr. George all of my life. His genuine personality along with his accomplishments set a high standard for the word “respect”. It was a pleasure to work side by side with him in the community and especially at Standard Bank. He was always there with words of wisdom and his sleeves rolled up ready to work. I will never forget him.”

In December 2008, the Salvation Army (Mt. Pleasant Unit) received a contribution from Standard Bank in honor of Mr. Robert L. George.
